The winter has finally come to Berlin and the settling in is going according to plan. Sports routine is not yet established, but I am working on that. There was this thought thumbling this week in my head, that what if we have it wrong and that free market solutions are created only when the gov fails to propose a solution. The word is progressing with time and the state (as gov.) is usually slow to adapt. Sometimes this leads to serious issues and the free market solutions will appear, but the free market solutions will come on their own terms. Uber is not a public service and their interest will not align with the public interest.
I also saw this tweet about the missing inflation. We should have seen a lot more inflation in the last years and I find it hard to believe, that a pizza (or burger) today still costs 7 €, as it did at the beginning of the decade.
<blockquote class=”twitter-tweet”><p lang=”en” dir=”ltr”>CPI is outdated, one number can’t measure inflation:<br><br>Consumer products suffer high deflation<br><br>Service products suffer mild inflation<br><br>Asset prices suffer high inflation</p>— Paul (@paul_btc) <a href=”https://twitter.com/paul_btc/status/1187274165121966081?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw”>October 24, 2019</a></blockquote> <script async src=”https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js” charset=”utf-8″></script>
There was some free time to watch Youtube this week, and I found this talk with Jared Diamond, a hero of mine.
And Dan Carlin has a new episode out.
